A Greenfield food processing plant has been forced to close because of repeated violations.

The Illinois Department of Agriculture says Parks Locker Service violated the meat and poultry inspection act 136 times between the end of March and middle of June. The department says in a news release the violations include rusty meat hooks, peeling paint where meat is stored and holes in walls among other problems.

The facility had to be closed immediately, though the company can appeal the decision.

Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidate businessman Bruce Rauner participates in a Republican gubernatorial candidate debate Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, in Springfield, Ill.
