State Sen. Andy Manar (D-Bunker Hill) is setting up temporary office space after fire damaged his district office in Staunton. He says the fire started about noon on Monday in a business next door to his office in a historic building on Main Street. Manar says no one was injured. He did not know the cause or a damage estimate. The city has offered Manar space for a temporary office on Main Street.
The move is so that another technical default doesn't happen on the utility's bonding, and that the required debt coverage ratio can be met.
The alleged misconduct occurred in Jacksonville in 1980.
