A fire on the north end of Springfield destroyed a detached garage Wednesday afternoon.

The fire began in the structure located at Ardmore and Selick just before 2pm and was extinguished about 30 minutes later.  The nearby home suffered heat damage to some siding.

No one was injured in the blaze and the cause is under investigation but it does not appear suspicious.  Four Springfield Fire Department trucks and crews worked the scene.
