Dust Storm Closes IL 108 Near Carlinville

A January dust storm has closed a state route near Carlinville for an undetermined amount of time.

Illinois State Police District 18 says portions of Route 108 west of Carlinville has been closed since about 2:00; it’s unclear when the road will reopen. A three mile stretch between Bates and Corner Roads is closed; state police moved the western edge back to Route 111.

A couple of accidents with minor injuries have been blamed on the conditions.
