Decatur Man Charged with Murder in Toddler’s Death

A Decatur man faces first-degree murder charges in the death of a 2-year-old.

Twenty-eight-year-old Manuel Gonzales is being held on $1 million bond after being arraigned in the death of Dominic Bradley, who died in late December. Authorities say Gonzales was dating Bradley’s mother, who’s also facing charges.

They say Gonzales was babysitting Bradley and three other children when he slammed Dominic into a wall after the boy wouldn’t stop jumping on a bed. An autopsy showed Dominic died from blunt force trauma to the head.

It was unclear if Gonzales had an attorney. He’s set to appear in court again on Jan. 22.
