A director of the Department of Juvenile Justice will be taking the helm of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. Arthur Bishop replaces Richard Calica, who died in December after a battle with cancer.

Quinn’s office says Bishop was director of field operations at DCFS for nearly a decade.

Bishop’s appointment was effective Friday. The position pays roughly 150-thousand dollars.
