Dairyman Praises Moms-to-Farm Program

Illinois farmers are celebrating a program that brings the consumers right to the source.

“We’re educating mothers, who are the primary food buyers,” says Kane County farmer Dale Drendel of the Illinois Farm Families’ Field Moms program. “Just to get them out in the field, get them on the farms, they can ask their own questions, and if they get the answer directly from a farmer, they usually think, ‘Oh boy, maybe that is true.’”

Drendel is a board member of the Illinois Milk Producers Association and says he is one of just seven dairy farmers in his county; he also farms grain.
