Car Crashes into Power Pole, Knocks Out Power to 1,000

City Water Light and Power crews were working on a power outage on the west side caused by a car crashing into a power pole near Bruns Ln. and Jefferson St. around 10:30 Saturday morning.

CWLP says the affected customers were in an area between Amos Ave. Bruns Ln., Jefferson St. and the Washington Park area, and also those in the area of MacArthur Boulevard and Chatham Road.

Crews restored power around 11:30.
