Menard County Board of Commissioners Chairman Dies During Meeting

Merle Kirby, Chairman of the Menard County Board of Commissioners, has died. He was 78.

Menard County Deputy Coroner Ben Hollis tell WTAX News Kirby died Tuesday night during a board meeting.

Sanagamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards is handling the autopsy; her office determined his death was due to natural causes.
