ATV Accident:  Investigation Continues

Investigators in Springfield are still trying to determine what caused an ATV accident earlier this week that injured two people.

Twenty-one-year-old Cody Ballard was driving the all-terrain vehicle on a bike trail on the city’s western edge when the accident took place.

According to Sangamon County Sheriff Neil Williamson, Ballard was in critical condition Saturday in the intensive care unit of Memorial Medical Center after undergoing surgery.

Also injured in the accident was 19-year-old Eileen Brown.
