Ameren is updating some of its infrastructure in parts of Springfield and Chatham this summer and fall.

The utility’s Marcelyn Love says older gas supply lines will be replaced as part of an on-going maintenance program but customers shouldn’t be inconvenienced.

“Customers may see a brief interruption in service once we get to the individual service sites when we make the new connections.  It will be brief interruption but they will be alerted in advance,” says Love

The $1.4-million  project should wrap up in October.
