Smashing Pumpkins to re-release ‘Adore’ as box set

Rockers The Smashing Pumpkins are set to revisit their 1998 album “Adore” and re-release it as a box set featuring new material this summer.

The six-disc set will include unreleased songs and a live DVD from their 1998 charity tour.

A message on the band’s website from frontman Billy Corgan reads, “One thing that might excite fans of the album is that we were able to go back and locate elements from the original sessions that were stored digitally, but never used; such as some of the brilliant work done by producer Bon Harris.

“In that fresh mixes have been commissioned, shedding new light on not only the songs hidden foundations, but their futuristic nature as well.”

Fans will get another treat next year, when the group releases two new records – “Monuments to an Elegy” and “Day for Night.”

In addition, Corgan’s experimental album called “Aegea” is slated to hit retailers later this year.
