Hit monster movie “Godzilla” has been named the most mistake-laden film of the year so far.

The sci-fi favorite, starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, is currently riding high on both sides of the Atlantic after racking up combined opening weekend sales of more than $100 million.

However, it is also on course to set another record for 2014 after eagle-eyed cinema-goers noticed a string of errors since the film was released on Friday.

“Godzilla” has shot straight to the top of a list of shame on Moviemistakes.com with nine howling errors, including gaps between a character’s airtight radiation mask and his face, a huge explosion with a tiny shockwave, and a whispered conversation in a noisy helicopter.

Second on the list is “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” which has eight errors including a shield with three bullet holes when only two shots are fired, and a stationary car changing direction between shots.

“The Monuments Men,” “Robocop,” and “Need for Speed” all tie for third place, with five mistakes each.
