Comedian Katt Williams denies pulling gun on heckler

Comedian Katt Williams has denied reports he brandished a gun at a busy comedy club in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Williams allegedly sparked panic at the Comedy Store in West Hollywood by pulling out a firearm and threatening a heckler, and police were called to the scene.

However, Williams is said to have left the venue before law enforcement officers arrived, and editors at TMZ.com now report the stand-up star denies handling a weapon, claiming he was threatened and assaulted by several gang members at the club.

A spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
