LOS ANGELES (AP) — Most bands who fight with their record label prefer to keep it quiet.

30 Seconds To Mars made a film about it.

The documentary “Artifact” was meant to follow the band as they made a record in 2008.

It changed into a chronicle of the band’s attempts to get out of their record contract and EMI responding by suing them for $30 million.

The documentary won awards on the film festival circuit. It’s out this week on iTunes.
