Vehicle Chase Equals Power Outage
Vehicle Chase Equals Power Outage

A home invasion on Dirsksen Parkway early this  (Wednesday) morning resulted in a brief power outage for some area residents.  Deputy Springfield Police Cliff Buscher says officers were called to the area as the scene unfolded and spotted the suspect speeding down Dirksen Parkway. Police turned around to pursue Jeffrey Sanders.  Shortly after giving chase, they found Sanders had lost control of his vehicle and hit a power pole near Dirksen and Nichols Road, causing the power outage.  Sanders reportedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and battered her before leaving.  He was arrested and is being charged with home invasion, domestic battery, reckless driving, and DUI.  CWLP’s Amber Sabin says all power has been restored.
