State Comptroller Judy Baar-Topinka may not be in the trenches fighting the budget battles but she is far from just sitting on the sidelines either. Topinka says she has been around a long time but isn’t sure if she has experienced anything quite like this current legislative session.
Topinka says among the major issues lawmakers face as they race the clock in passing a budget is pension reform. She says there will be “something” but she questions whether is actually will make a difference and could further erode our credit rating. “Zimbabwe has a better credit rating than we do,” says Topinka “and I gotta (sic) tell you, Zimbabwe isn’t a pretty place.”
The comptroller appeared live Friday on Morning News Watch with Bob Murray.
