While the 4H message delivered at the Illinois State Fair is aimed at teenagers, texting while driving is a prevalent transgression among adults, even though it’s banned by law, says Paul La Schiazza, president of AT&T Illinois.
“No matter what the law says, if you just look around when you’re driving you see people texting and driving, and we’re trying to really ramp up the awareness of the dangers of it. No text is worth dying for,” he said.
The website is www.ItCanWait.com, and it features a horror video on the consequences of texting while driving, or you can take your pledge via text, while you’re not driving, by sending 4H4ICW to 50555.
