Springfield OKs Deal with Chatham Over Water
Springfield OKs Deal with Chatham Over Water

Springfield alderman ok’d a deal with Chatham to forgo legal wrangling with the village agreeing to pay to the city a half-million dollars for terminating their contract with Springfield’s utility.  Springfield mayor Mike Houston says the agreement is reasonable and says both the city and Chatham can avoid “further legal action.”

The village of Chatham will receive a 99-year lease of ground owned by the city of Springfield where their new pump station sits at a cost of 200-thousand dollars.
