The Springfield School Board is looking to crack down on administrators violating residency requirements.
Some members said they received complaints that some people are not living within the district’s boundaries. Interim superintendent Bob Leming says there are a number of issues that may be contributing factors.
“People might take on addresses in Springfield but might live away, have dual residency, says Leming. “There’s the issue of people who change addresses and people don’t know, people get married and things change in their lives.”
Leming says the board wants to tighten up enforcement and clear up misconceptions on what the rules are.
