Touting itself as the Route 66 Gateway to the Abraham Lincoln Historic Sites, a planned 35-acre development is taking another step forward. Sherman Village trustees approved the construction of a one-mile hiking and jogging path around a ten acre point in the Rail Pointe development.
“We wanted to put an entire path system around this development so the area would be that much more inviting to users” said Sherman Mayor Trevor Clatfelter.
Clatfelter says as the village continues to grow, green space and recreation opportunities will continue to be a priority. Construction of the concrete path is expected to being in the next few weeks with completion scheduled for the end of November.
