The Springfield-Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission has released the final draft of the rural bicycle and pedestrian plan.
The draft identifies several proposed routes for future trails for both bike riders and pedestrians. Senior planner Linda Wheeland says input from several groups including the public created the plan, and now they are looking for comments before the final draft is approved.
“We’d like to hear back from the public one more time before the plan is finalized, to see if there’s support for the plan or to see if there are any additional comments,” says Wheeland.
The plans can be viewed on the commission’s website. Public comments will be accepted through July 15th.
