A long dormant railroad crossing on state route 104 near Kincaid will soon reopen.
The Illinois Department of Transportation is set to remove “exempt” signs from the crossing Tuesday; it’s about four miles west of Kincaid. It’s been dormant for years, but it’s set to reopen for use by the Kincaid Generation Station. New signals and gates have been installed.
Still, IDOT is urging drivers to watch out for railroad activity.
