With practically no contested races in the Democratic primary, Gov. Quinn has called for the party to band together and work as a ticket despite recent clashes. His comments came Sunday during the state Democratic party’s meeting to slate statewide candidates for the 2014 primary. The 23 state central committeemen unanimously voted to give the party’s official endorsement. The meeting was set before former White House chief of staff Bill Daley dropped out of the gubernatorial race, predicting Quinn would lose. He was Quinn’s top challenger.
