Governor Pat Quinn has appointed three new arbitrators one new commissioner to the state’s Workers’ Compensation Commission.
The board has 27 arbitrators currently. Quinn signed an overhaul of the state’s workers’ compensation system in 2011. At the time he said the new law should have companies see their workers’ compensation premiums drop. Under the law, new arbitrators who will decide cases will serve three-year terms instead of six and will be prohibited from accepting gifts.
Quinn also reappointed a dozen arbitrators.
The governor’s office announced the appointments and reappointments on Friday.
