The Prairie Capital Convention Center will soon be able to deposit a 4-million dollar check into its bank account. Governor Pat Quinn was in town Wednesday and says his “Illinois Jobs Now” program will contribute money to the center’s 16-million dollar expansion which is nearing completion.
“The Prairie Capital Convention Center expansion and remodel project is a great example of what government can accomplish when we work together,” SMEAA Chairman Mike Coffey, Jr. said. “The Convention Center board and staff are extremely grateful for this investment, and this expansion would not have happened without his support.”
Quinn’s office says the 31-billion dollar “Illinois Jobs Now” program will support more than 430-thousand jobs over the next six years.
