The clock is ticking for the Springfield Park Board to meet its self imposed deadline of hiring a new executive director.
“Our goal is still to have somebody on board in January around the first of the year,” said Sgro. “We are on target to make that goal.”
Sgro says the process to hire Mike Stratton’s replacement is continuing thoroughly and methodically; an initial pool of 37 candidates is being whittled down. Sgro couldn’t say when interviews would begin or anything about the candidates being discussed, but she’s holding fast to the January deadline.
Stratton resigned in February after questionable use of park district funds.
