The World Tour Celtic Festival was a success.
Organizer Beth Ogilvy said the event went well, with dancing, singing and Irish and Scottish traditions.
“There’s a bouncy house for the children, coloring and all kinds of crafts. We have the most fabulous whiskey tent.”
Ogilvy added that there were brewers and experts in attendance to tell people about what kind of whiskey they were drinking and how exactly they’re supposed to drink it. There was also a “Ginger Contest.” Red-headed citizens of Springfield competed in a contest that included all kinds of prizes.
Entertainment was provided by a number of different groups, including St. Andrew’s Pipes & Drums &Celtic Dancers, Emerald Underground and Skibbereen. The World Tour Celtic Festival has a very positive cause, according to Ogilvy.
“The festival benefits the World Tour Trip for the St. Andrew’s Pipes and Drums and Celtic Dancers trip to Scotland and Ireland 2014.”
And they hope to make it. The festival appeared to be quite a success; organizers even needed to go get more food halfway through the 12-hour event.
