The search for Springfield’s next school superintendent continues, and the public is being asked to help. Scott MacFarland of Subdistrict 7 says there will be several meetings — one with community groups, one with parents and another for teachers and other employees.
“What they’re looking for is focused areas they want to hit on. So when the firm goes back they know that Springfield’s looking for somebody who can do X, Y, and Z, they’ve got this kind of experience. They’re also going to meet with the board members one on one to get our input.”
There will also be at least two public meetings. MacFarland says the search firm will conduct them, and information gathered will be an integral part of the hiring process. The meetings should take place sometime in early September, and the interview process cannot begin until they’re finished.
