Mayor Mike Houston says there is a reason he is often tight-lipped with the media and the Springfield City Council. He says, too often, confidential information is leaked to those who may have an agenda and he has to be guarded.
“It is a problem and we can never have an executive session and the media is almost immediately notified” Houston told WTAXs Alex Degman Wednesday morning during the Morning Newswatch.
Houston will not name names. Tuesday the city council decided to not yet vote on a proposed settlement ordinance with Calvin Christian in his case against the city for improper shredding of police internal affairs documents. It was up for emergency passage but will not be taken up for two weeks.
