Legacy Pointe Outlet Mall Project Moving Forward
Legacy Pointe Outlet Mall Project Moving Forward

Plans are moving forward on the future Outlets at Springfield development. Construction on the 80 plus retail stores will begin after the city approves plans for the development. Global Outlet Management president David Ober, whoes company is heading up the development, says the outlet mall will bring in more than 800 good jobs.

“The great part of the outlet industry is that there is a lot more high paying, salaried management jobs than normal because the average size of an outlet store is about 5,000 square feet, between 3 and 5 thousand” says Ober. “So instead of a bunch of big boxes where you only really only have one big manager, each of the stores have their own managers and assistant managers. So they give those opportunities.”

Ober says outlet malls are the only sector in retail that is growing world wide, and is the most profitable part of the retailer’s business plan. The Outlets at Springfield is expected to open sometime next year.
