DECATUR, Ill. (AP) — Six students are visiting Decatur from its sister city in Japan.
The students are from Tokorozawa in Japan. The Herald and Review reports Tuesday (http://bit.ly/1bE8JjN) that they will spend two weeks in the U.S. The students are staying with host families. While they are in Decatur they will attend the Decatur Celebration parade and teach origami to children.
The visit is thanks to the Decatur Sister Cities Committee. The group uses city and independent funds to host high school students from Japan and Decatur’s other sister city, Seevetal, Germany.
