Blame it on “Star Trek” and Microsoft, or at least on their latest translator update. The Illinois Department of Employment Security website usually only allows translation into four languages other than English — Spanish, Russian, Polish and Chinese. However, the latest version of the Microsoft translator software that I-D-E-S uses comes with a Klingon version, and, with the release of the new “Star Trek” movie this weekend, the agency decided to allow a Klingon translation for a short time. A spokesman for the department says the translation doesn’t cost any additional money, and there are hopes the Klingon version will bring in the curious.
