Harris Found Guilty In Beason Murders

Christopher Harris, is guilty.  A jury says there’s enough evidence to prove he killed five members of the Gee family in Beason, back in 2009.  He’s now convicted of murder, battery, armed robbery, and home invasion.  Harris maintained his innocence throughout the trial, claiming he only killed one of the family members, and that was in self-defense.

But his brother Jason testified against him, claiming he and Harris did cocaine and alcohol shots just a few hours before Harris beat the family with a tire iron.

In the courtroom, the Gee family cried softly as the verdict was read, and huddled together for comfort.  Harris put his hands over his face and shook his head after learning his fate.  He faces life in prison and will be sentenced on July 19th.

Meanwhile, one of the jurors says the evidence against the defendant was too strong to discount.

Seth Jones is 19. He said after the jury delivered its verdict against Christopher Harris Friday that he looked for ways to believe Harris might be innocent but found none.

Our news partners at WAND-TV report a relative of the Gees thanked Jones and hugged him outside the courtroom.
