The governor is touting an effort to get people to learn the trades involved in road construction. It’s called the Highway Construction Careers Training Program, operating at 10 community colleges around the state. Gov. Pat Quinn says some of the graduates are working in the new Mississippi River Bridge. He explains the state’s participation in the Highway Construction Careers Training Program.

Lincoln Land has had 138 students enroll in the program, 115 have graduated and, 11 have been hired to work on Illinois road projects.
