The price of gasoline is down.
The statewide average for gas in Illinois stands at $3.29, down 13 cents from a month ago, according to the Triple-A Fuel Gauge Report.
Triple-A spokesman Beth Mosher says the time of year is a factor. “Not only is it the time of year but supplies are plentiful across the country, demand is low, and that of course comes with the time of year. Oil prices are holding pretty steady,” she said.
The price is down by 18 cents from last year at this time. Mosher attributes that to a mild hurricane season during which there was little to interrupt the supply. She says the driving public is pleased that the price is down.
