Sangamon County is offering some help to anyone wanting to get rid of electronic items. The county’s department of public health is holding it’s annual electronics recycling collection event. Most unwanted household electronics will be accepted at the State Fair Grounds on June 8th from 8am to 1pm. Assistant Director Gail O’Neill says Vintage Tech Recyclers will be on hand to ensure protection of personal information on electronic devices.
O’Neill says residents should load items in the trunk of their car or in back of their truck and workers on site will remove them for you. For a complete list of which items will be accepted, you can call the Sangamon County Department of Public Health at 535-3100 or go to their web site, scdph.org.
