Government employees sent home because of the shutdown say they want to go back to work, but admit there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. Brent Barron of the American Federation of Government Employees says government workers are waiting for Congress to reach a deal to fund the government and send them back to work.
“They wanted to do their jobs; what they do everyday. But because there was no budget, they were sent home” says Barron.
Around 800,000 federal workers were sent home without pay on Tuesday, after Congress failed to pass a budget or a continuing resolution to fund the government.
