Farmersville Opera House Receives $1,000 Grant

A Farmersville landmark will get help from a state grant to make much needed repairs.

The group Landmarks Illinois has awarded $1,000 to put new windows in the Farmersville Opera House, first built in 1911. It’s been abandoned for some time, but the village plans to rehab it for use as commercial and community space.

Village officials say they’ll finish rehabbing the first floor for commercial use once the windows are installed.
