The Springfield School board is a little bit closer to enforcing a policy that would make high ranking District 186 employees live within the district.
During a policy meeting Monday, a revised policy was discussed. It is not final but will be brought to the board next week. The idea is to make administrators, those with the ability to hire, discharge, assign, transfer, promote or discipline other employees, live in the district. It’s been a project that Board Member Mike Zimmers has been working on with other board members, although he noted that this was an issue brought to the board by several members of District 186.
Employees would have to show an item from each of three categories, a lease, Mortgage, or deed, then a form of identification and a payroll stub of some kind.
Those violating would have a year to comply.
