The Watson man accused of killing his seven-year-old niece won’t go to trial until next year.
Jury selection was supposed to get underway next week but Justin DeRyke’s defense team is still sifting through hundreds of hours of recorded interviews. The new trial date is set for February 10th but officials say that will likely be pushed back too.
DeRyke is accused of stabbing his niece, Willow Long multiple times to “put her out of her misery” after she fell on a pile of brush and pierced her throat. He’s pleaded not guilty.
