Nearly 275 volunteers will be rolling up their sleeves and fanning across the area to paint, scrape, dig, and otherwise provide labor to several non-profit organizations Friday afternoon. United Way Executive Director John Kelker says this is the fourth year for the event and provides help to organizations that may not otherwise be able to provide it.
“The projects themselves are at non-profits, the volunteers come from about 25 different companies” says Kelker
Among sites for this year’s “Day of Action” will include Henson Robinson Zoo, Ronald McDonald House and, Concordia Village. Kelker says among the companies pitching in: Wells Fargo with more than 50 volunteers and nearly two dozen volunteers from Illinois National Bank.
