It’s official. ComEd and Ameren will be raising rates in the near future. The House followed in the Senate’s footsteps and overruled Governor Quinn after he vetoed a bill that gives the companies the go ahead to increase their rates.
The companies say they’ll use the extra cash to upgrade their electric grid, which will help the restore service quicker when there’s an outage. In Representative Lou Lang’s opinion, customers wouldn’t mind paying a couple bucks more per month in exchange for streamlined service.
