Chatham Trustee: Despite Complaints, Few Attend Council Meetings
Chatham Trustee: Despite Complaints, Few Attend Council Meetings

Despite what some say are broken promises, it appears that Chatham residents are giving a collective shrug of the shoulders for the most recent water rate increase.  Village Trustee Dan Holden says it appears most voters accept the most recent rate hike.

“I’ve heard some comments. I’ve had an email or two but it hasn’t been overwhelming. I’m a rate payer myself and I don’t want to pay any more than anyone else as well” says Holden.  “Even attendance at our meetings is very low.”

One of the commissioners of the South Sangamon Water Commission, William Pfeffer, tendered his resignation from the board. It is not clear why Pfeffer resigned.
