Cheri Ballinger

Cheri Ballinger

Cheri Ballinger is a central Illinois radio veteran, broadcasting from Mattoon/Charleston to Springfield and everywhere in between (Decatur).

Ballinger received her A.A.S in Radio/TV Broadcasting from Lake Land College in 1988 and since then has done everything from country, to oldies, to adult contemporary, but she says news/talk is by far her favorite.

Cheri now lives in Auburn and has three children — ages 21, 18 and 12. She works full time for the state but, as central Illinois radio┬ápeople will tell you, once the radio bug bites you you can never really get away from it.

Cheri can be heard Saturdays hosting the Weekend Newswatch, which runs from 6-9 a.m.
