Cheri Ballinger

Cheri Ballinger

Cheri Ballinger is a central Illinois radio veteran, broadcasting from Mattoon/Charleston to Springfield and everywhere in between (Decatur).

Ballinger received her A.A.S in Radio/TV Broadcasting from Lake Land College in 1988 and since then has done everything from country, to oldies, to adult contemporary, but she says news/talk is by far her favorite.

Cheri now lives in Auburn and has three children — ages 21, 18 and 12. She works full time for the state but, as central Illinois radio people will tell you, once the radio bug bites you you can never really get away from it.

Cheri can be heard Saturdays hosting the Weekend Newswatch, which runs from 6-9 a.m.
