Update: One in Custody Following Normal School Shooting

More details are being released this afternoon about an early morning shooting at Normal Community High School in Normal.

Police took a 14 year old boy into custody after he allegedly fired an unknown number of shots into the school's ceiling. Authorities won't say whether the student was targeting a specific individual.

The boy reportedly wouldn't let anyone leave the classroom, but teachers eventually tackled and subdued him until police arrived. The school was on lockdown for a short while before the students were transfered to a church, where parents could pick them up. Students who drove to school aren't allowed to take their cars out of the parking lot until the investigation is complete.

No one was injured in the incident.
