States Attorney Candidates Spar Over Concealed Carry

Republican John Milhiser, running to retain his seat as Sangamon County State's Attorney, says he supports concealed carry legislation -- but until it's passed he will enforce the law on the books.

During a live debate on the WTAX Morning Newswatch, Milhiser responded to challenging Democrat Ron Stradt's position that if elected he won't prosecute most law abiding citizens for concealed weapon violations. Milhiser says it's the State's Attorney's job to uphold all laws, not just ones he feels like.

Stradt says Illinois' concealed carry laws do not conform with Supreme Court decisions on the matter.
