State Sen. Trotter to Face Trial

The case against State Senator Donne Trotter will move forward.  A Cook County judge has found probable cause to try Trotter for attempting to bring a handgun and ammunition onto a plane at O'Hare last month.

Trotter stood silently during Thursday's brief hearing as the arresting officer testified that Trotter claimed at the time he was arrested that he didn't know the .25-caliber Beretta was in his carry-on bag.  Trotter contends he'd just left his job as a security guard and forgot the gun was in his case.  His next court date is March 12th.
