Six Interview to Replace Rep. Watson

Six people will be interviewed to replace former State Representative Jim Watson.

A Vacancy Committee is responsible for appointing someone to finish Watson's current unexpired term in the 97th District and also to serve the two year term for the new 100th District.  Committee Chairman Steve Hardin says they plan to interview the remaining applicants Sunday afternoon and hope to select a replacement later that evening.

Watson retired from office effective December 3rd.  He's been named the new Executive Director of the Illinois Petroleum Council.
