Springfield Superintendent Walter Milton wasn't selected to be Little Rock, Arkansas' new superintendent of schools.

The Little Rock School Board selected Dexter Suggs, chief of staff for the Indianapolis Public School System in a special meeting Tuesday night. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports Suggs was selected over Milton and two other candidates.

Milton interviewed with the district on Monday. His last day as Springfield Superintendent is on March 31.
